1.The Kedarnath area was stuck by a major calamity in 2013 which caused massive loss of human lives and large scale destruction of property and infrastructure in Uttarakhand, including the shrine of Kedarnath.

2. During his visit to Kedarnath on 20th October last year, Hon’ble Prime Minister, Shri Narendra Modi, directed the local government to take steps for reconstruction of Kedarnath area. Hon’ble Prime Minister had also suggested that the efforts be made to help develop Kedarnath as a ‘Smart Township’. The State Government of Uttarakhand is also taking steps to restore the shrine and the surrounding area to its pristine glory, while providing devotees with all modern amenities and services. To meet this goal, the State Government has now constituted ‘Shri Kedarnath Charitable Trust’ to seek funds for Shri Kedarnath Dham reconstruction works.

3. All Indian citizens may consider contributing to the noble cause, through the Kedarnath Charitable Trust.
