Celebration of 80th Independence Day in Milan

Celebration of #80thIndependenceDay in Milan
The Indian Consulate in Milan enthusiastically celebrated India’s 80th Independence Day. The celebration began with the singing of Vande Mataram, the National Song. Consul General Mr. Lavanya Kumar hoisted the National Flag at a ceremony held at the Consulate premises. Over 200 members of the Indian diaspora participated in the celebrations.
The Consul General read out excerpts from the address of the President to the nation on the eve of Independence Day.
On this occasion, the Consulate screened a short video clip on India’s role in promoting South-South Cooperation and its contribution to the Global South.
The Consul General felicitated the winners of various competitions held on the occasion, including the Bharat Ko Janiye Quiz, Viksit Bharat Painting Competition, India Through My Lens Photography Competition, and My India–My Story.
Members of the diaspora also sang various patriotic songs on the occasion.
